SYHC will strive to provide a positive environment that promotes the development of hockey skills, good sportsmanship, competitive play and fun for all players.

18U – Kyle Koennecke
16U – Val Hernandez
1998 – Jeff Tyhalski
1999 – Mike Glover
2000 – Jim Fritsche
2001 – Steve Duke
2002 – Tim Schuette
2003 – Nate Heckman
2004 – Josh Moore
Tryouts will begin the week of 4/23 at Hoover Arena. The times and dates for each team will be announced in the next few days.
Complete details on season expectations and player fees will be available prior to tryout sessions.

What is being combined?

Will SYHC and WHA still exist?

Yes, both organizations will still exist and oversee all teams at the CSHL, House, and Mites ADM levels.

Both will work in coordination and as partners in the CHA.

Both organizations will have CSHL teams and skate out their respective rinks. SYHC at Hoover and WHA at Serpentini.

Will CHA teams play in a league?
-
Teams will play in a league or independent based on the skill level of the final roster. The Hockey Director and Head Coach working with the Executive Board will determine the best league/situation for each team.

Will there be “House” program?
-
Both rinks will establish a House program. Players coming out of ADM or LTPH as well as older players new to the game will now have a place to play until they are ready for a CSHL team.

Who is on the Executive Board?
-
The five member board will have a representative from SYHC, WHA, Hockey Director, and two, third party, independent advisors. Advisors will be selected by the permanent board seat members.

What will be the fees for a CHA teams?
-
A budget will be determined for each team based on the projected skill level, roster size, league requirements, and other costs, Team budget may vary as determined by the HC and HD along with input from the Executive Board. The cost per player will be determined by dividing the total team budget by the number of players on the team. Cost per player will be available prior to tryouts.

Will there be new jerseys?

Yes, all CHA teams will have a new jersey. Name TBD based on current discussions with potential sponsors.

SYHC and WHA CSHL teams will use existing jerseys with a CHA patch applied to the sleeve.

Will the CHA adhere to USA Hockey ADM principles?

Yes, all principles of the USA Hockey ADM program will be implemented over the next few years. This includes off ice training.

Will teams be birth year? How many teams?
-
All CHA teams will be birth year. We plan on CHA teams at the following levels:

18U

16U
-
1998

1999

2000

2001

2004

Second picked CHA teams may be established for each birth year based on tryouts and depth of talent at each level.

Who will the Hockey Director?

The Executive Board will interview and select a HD based on applications already received.

Hockey Director will be a paid employee of Ice land USA and will oversee all aspects of the hockey programs at both rinks.

HD will have three coordinators to assist in day to day operations.

Will CHA teams use both rinks?
-
Yes. Teams will typically have one practice per week at each rink. Games could be played at both rinks based on ice needs and availability.

When will tryouts be conducted for CHA teams?
-
Tryouts For CHA teams are slated to begin the week of April 23rd. Both Hoover and Serpentini will be used for tryout sessions.

Tryouts for CSHL teams will conducted in the fall. Typically these are held in mid August.
Squirt III Wins CSHL Championship posted 3/5/2012 by SYHC Board Congratulations to Squirt III and to Head Coach Kurt Hansen for winning the CSHL Championship over the weekend. Squirt III won the championship by beating previously undefeated Wooster 3-2 in overtime.
Squirt III reached the finals by beating Freemont 2-0 in the first round of the CSHL Playoffs. The team made the playoffs by finishing second in the division during the regular season with a record of 6 wins, 1 loss, and 3 ties.

posted 03/05/2012 Congratulations to Squirt III and to Head Coach Kurt Hansen for winning the CSHL Championship over the weekend. Squirt III won the championship by beating previously undefeated Wooster 3-2 in overtime.
